About

Jon was raised in the midlands of South Carolina, and earned an exercise science degree from Furman University. His passion is creating portraits and other paintings on commission, and also works providing illustrations across many genres in book publishing, gaming, and editorial, and more.

“My goal is to make beautiful paintings; each person brings his or her own experience to each work, and if something I paint can combine with those experiences to delight, inspire, enchant, remind, or soothe, then I am fulfilled.”

On portraiture:

“A successful portrait should land at the intersection of looking like the subject and feeling like the subject. Finding that blend is an exhilarating challenge that I cannot help but pursue.”

Jon lives and works in Greenville, SC alongside his wife Kristen and four children, Bethany, Charlotte, Adam, and Madeleine.
